This year’s congress brought together more than 6,000 healthcare professionals from 116 countries, creating a global space to learn about the latest medical updates, discover new scientific evidence, and exchange knowledge with specialists from around the world.
Over four days, researchers, experts, and healthcare professionals shared the latest developments in key areas of child health, reinforcing one important idea: the future of medicine is built through collaboration, research, and the exchange of experiences across borders.
More than just a scientific congress, ESPGHAN was an opportunity to connect people, knowledge, and cultures around one shared goal: improving care for children and their families.
Pharmalys Laboratories took an active part in ESPGHAN 2026 with an institutional stand, reaffirming its commitment to continuing medical education, scientific innovation, and ongoing support for healthcare professionals.
As part of this international experience, we had the privilege of leading a delegation of 11 Ecuadorian doctors, who participated in one of the world’s most important scientific forums in the fields of gastroenterology, hepatology, and pediatric nutrition.
This experience went beyond attending a congress. It was an opportunity to strengthen relationships, share clinical perspectives, and build connections between Latin American healthcare professionals and the international scientific community.

ESPGHAN 2026 offered an outstanding scientific program, featuring research, new clinical guidelines, and advances that will help shape pediatric practice in the years to come.
Experts explored key topics such as the gut microbiome, nutrition during the first 1,000 days of life, food allergies, gastrointestinal diseases, pediatric hepatology, artificial intelligence in medicine, and new tools to improve clinical care.
However, one of the most important messages from the congress was that science moves forward through collaboration. Creating new knowledge means bringing experiences together, sharing evidence, and developing solutions that respond to the real needs of each population.
The experience actually began before the congress, with gatherings in Madrid and Paris. Dinners and informal activities gave the participants the chance to strengthen relationships, share professional experiences, and build new connections within the medical community.
